GENERAL DEFINITIONS

  • Staff
    • The term staff refers to members of the community who have been elevated to volunteer or paid for service in order to enforce server rules or help members of the community with server related issues.
  • In-Character (IC)
    • The term In-Character is used to define roleplay or actions that are considered as part of a character in a fictional environment (In this case, Star Wars: The Clone Wars) that is in some form different from an individual’s real personality.
  • Arrest On Sight (AOS)
    • Arrest On Sight, more commonly referred to as AOS, is the practice of ordering people to be arrested due to them breaking an in-character rule. Officers have the ability to call an AOS, although lower ranks may call Shock Troopers on those breaking crimes as well, albeit without the authority to order they be arrested. Shock may investigate cases before carrying out the AOS order.
  • AOS Area
    • AOS Areas are defined as any area of the base marked as off limits via a text sign, as well as claimed areas like in-use sim rooms and battalion bunks. AOS Areas not marked with a text sign require an individual to be warned before being AOSed for being in the AOS Area.
  • Simulation
    • A simulation room is defined as one of the following areas of the base:
      • Citadel Sim Room (SIMA), and the Empty Sim Room (SIMB). These are collectively referred to as “Sim Rooms”.
      • Aux Room A, B, C, D, (AUX#) are known as "Outdoor Sim Rooms" (These are the buildings across from the outdoor hangars closest to the gate.)
    • A simulation is defined as a combat scenario that within roleplay is simulated to prevent actual death. Simulations allow Republic personnel to attack, injure, and kill each other, but only so long as the simulation is ongoing. Simulations are signified with “Sim start” or “sim end” to denote whether the simulation is ongoing or not. Outside of simulation rooms, and within simulation rooms that do not have an active sim, in-character rules apply.
  • Training
    • A training is defined as any activity a battalion does that attempts to improve their group in some way. Trainings may be carried out throughout the base.
  • Tryout
    • A tryout is defined as a process where a battalion attempts to recruit CTs. This process may be different depending on the Battalion
  • Officers
    • An officer is defined as anyone holding the rank of Clone Second Lieutenant or a Republic Command Ensign.
  • Power-gaming
    • Power gaming is defined as actions in roleplay (/me) that directly affect another and/or do something that is not a feature on our server to another user. Examples: /me knocks you out, /strips weapons and comms, /me climbs this wall. All of these actions should be roleplayed out.

DEFINITIONS

Terms used in the rules and defined.

Staff Punishment Definitions

  • Minge/Minging:
    • The act of being troublesome or intentionally breaking rules in order to cause chaos and disorder on the server and/or annoyance to its player base. This may include intentionally breaking In-character rules (see FailRP), or server rules like mic spamming and RDM.
  • Random Death Match (RDM)
    • Random Death Match, which is more commonly referred to as RDM, is the act of killing other players without any justification. A death from another player is considered RDM when there were no grounds to kill the player. Examples of this can include killing a player outside of an active sim, intentionally killing a player in an event, or killing someone that blocks a doorway because you wanted to go around them.
  • Spamming
    • Spamming may refer to mic spamming, chat spamming, emote spamming or a combination of all three.
    • Mic spamming is when an individual or group of individuals use their mic to continuously or rapidly speak in a manner that is unbefitting of a roleplay environment.
    • Chat Spamming is when an individual or group of individuals repeatedly and rapidly sends chat messages over any avenue of communication on the server, like /ooc, /comms, or any other chat channel.
    • Emote Spamming is when an individual or group of individuals repeatedly and rapidly emotes and/or performs /me commands over and over again.
  • FailRP
    • The act or event your character performs that would not be probable or reasonable in the environment he or she is in. Some examples include: Receiving RC to ban a player from a simulation
    • Crouching around the base without just cause.
    • Intentionally putting your life in danger during passive periods.
    • Saying you have a disease or disorder. This does not include physical injuries.
    • Dancing/emoting while moving around.
  • Bunny Hopping / Bhop:
    • Bunnyhopping: Consecutive jumps in a row while moving. If they are jumping every few seconds, that too is considered Bunnyhopping and is an arrestable offence.
    • Jumping on the spot: Not considered Bhopping, as they may be doing jumping jacks.
  • Harassment
    • Harassment is defined as repeated unwanted verbal abuse towards an individual. Harassment may result in a permanent ban.
  • Disrespect
    • Disrespect is defined as offensive language (including racism) or actions towards an individual or group of people. Disrespect can range in punishment from a jail to a permanent ban.
  • Advertising
    • Advertising is defined as drawing attention to another community, to an application, or to another service/product. Advertising another community or a service/product will result in a permanent ban. Advertising an application will result in denial of the application.
    • This includes inviting or encouraging players to play on another community, offering perks/ranks to go to that community, or mentioning the other community repeatedly. Thisis a permanent ban.
  • Exploiting
    • Exploiting is defined as knowingly using bugs, glitches, cheats, or software to gain an advantage over other players. This may include using third party software, using a known bug, or finding an unknown bug and hiding it to use to your advantage.
  • Inappropriate Content
    • Inappropriate Content is defined as anything said, posted, linked, or described in an out of character manner. This mainly includes sexual content, but can be expanded to include gore, malicious links, and private information (private information being a user's personal information, IE anti doxing rule)
  • Ramboing
    • Ramboing or to rambo is when a Jedi or Trooper strays from a group or the base solely for the purpose to be the first one to fight or see action. It is not considering ramboing if a group of troopers ask for assistance from another trooper or Jedi and the action fit the request for support.
    • Jedi are allowed to push or advance in combat on their own, however they risk the chances of receiving friendly fire if they advance unannounced or with poor timing and/or strategy.
  • Metagaming
    • Metagaming is defined as using knowledge obtained from elsewhere not in roleplay and using the knowledge in roleplay. This may include using OOC chat to find location of troopers or friends.
DETAILED RULES & DEFINED TERMS

COMMON COURTESY

On an out of character basis you are expected to remain respectful and calm towards others. Every player should feel welcome to the server regardless of their background. Thus, any form of OOC discrimination is prohibited and can result in a ban from the community depending on the severity.

You should always follow the staff team’s instructions, even if you disagree with the decision. If you feel a staff member has made a wrong decision, the decision can be reviewed by a member of Staff Affairs on the forums.

You are expected to roleplay at all times. Failing to roleplay a situation is strictly forbidden. If a player breaks this rule during the situation you must finish the roleplay and report the player later (“Roleplay now, complain later.”). You shall also not disrupt, stall or void roleplay unless a staff member tells you to.

Examples of breaking this rule:
  • Insulting another player through /pm or //
  • Spamming
  • Disregarding administrative decisions
  • Leaving the server intentionally to avoid roleplay or consequences of any kind
  • Taking advantage of an OOC issue to give yourself an advantage in an IC situation (keeping both product and money in uncompleted trades when the other party disconnects, running away from an arrest when the arresting Shock Trooper disconnects)
  • AFK during roleplay situations

Additional Notes:
  • In In-Character chat, speak only IC and in Galactic Basic (English). Do not use netspeak IC (omg, lol, etc).
  • In Out of character chats (OOC), only use English.

POWERGAMING

It is prohibited to perform actions that are not physically possible, not only limited to roleplay via /me. Additionally, it is not allowed to force actions upon another player and roleplaying nonexistent things to gain an unfair advantage over other players.

Examples of breaking this rule:
  • You roleplay through a /me to lift entire structures.
  • You drag an LAAT gunship with your bare hands.
  • You roleplay through a /me to rob a player with the result of the player ending up robbed with no chance to react in roleplay.
  • You roleplay that an item is not on you when it is in your inventory scriptwise.
  • Presuming or declaring that your own action against another player character is successful without giving the other player character a chance to act against it.
  • Using your rank to interact with others in a form where your rank would not be applicable. (Ex. A Jedi General entering the Shock Interrogation Room while a Mandalorian is being interrogated.

METAGAMING

Using out of character information in character, so-called Metagaming, is not allowed. Inciting someone to metagame is also against the rules. This includes providing information that other people have no reason to know - your emotes (/me, /do, etc) should not state what others cannot see, hear, touch, smell or taste.

Examples:
  • You read another player’s OOC nametag and now roleplay knowing them.
  • You message a player using OOC communications (e.g. /pm, //) to come to x location
  • The use of thinking emotes ( /me thinks about sneaking out of base.)
  • Using VoIP channels that are not designated in-character communications (e.g. third party Discord server, Skype, etc.)
  • A player if presumed to be unconscious and experiencing the timer of death and require a Medical Trooper to revive said player, the past Five Minutes to the characters knowledge has been lost and can no longer use information obtained in that situation in roleplay.

DEATHMATCHING (RDM)

Killing another player without or with poor roleplay reason (death match) is prohibited. Unnecessary provoking is included in this rule.

Examples:
  • Shooting a player because you do not like their armor.

CHARACTER RULES

You can have up to three individual characters on the game server ranging from Clone Troopers over Jedi to Wookies and Astromech. To maintain a healthy balance, certain restrictions have been put in place.
  • You may join multiple battalions on different characters.
  • You may only hold one character above the rank of Officer or one lore character.
  • You may not be part of ARC and Clone Commandos at the same time.

CHARACTER NAMES

When giving your character a name, you must consider the following;
  • Names cannot be famous or be similar to a famous person’s name
  • Names may not be the same as or similar to characters in video games, movies, TV shows or any other form of media [-1]
  • Names cannot be existing lore characters
  • Names should match the character’s background [-1]
    • Astromechs should be R2 units only [-1]
  • Names should not be comical or reference memes or pop culture [-1]
  • Names may not contain any special characters
  • Gag names such as “Ben Dover” are prohibited.

CHARACTER CUSTOMIZATION

Players should customize their characters realistically. Astromech Droids cannot use weapons or cosmetical items of any kind. Staff members may request a player to change their character’s customizations if they deem it unfit for the server environment.
  • Clones cannot wear Jedi cosmetics or utilize Jedi equipment.
    • Clones cannot use Jedi Lootcrates or keep/obtain/use any items from source.
  • Jedi cannot use Clone weaponry, Clone equipment, or Clone cosmetics.
    • Backpacks/Capes are allowed to be worn.
  • Special Exceptions:
    • Wearing Clone Cosmetics is allowed for Regimental Jedi.
    • Wearing Clone Weapons only as cosmetics is allowed for Jedi Exotic Weapon Specialists.

Examples:
  • You wear too many modules on your Clone helmet that looks unrealistic.
  • You wear a jetpack and backpack at the same time.

3RD PARTY SOFTWARE

Any type of game modification or software which gives a player any type of advantage over another player is forbidden. This includes but is not limited to hacking, aimbotting, ESPs, etc.

Client side modding to give an advantage is also considered a breach of the rule. Client side modding may only be done for aesthetic purposes and should never be done to change the function of anything in-game.

Examples:
  • Use of godmode.
  • Usage of ESPs to find harvestables or cloaked players.

BUG EXPLOITATION

Any bugs revealed by players are to be reported on the Community Discord Server or the correct section on the forums. Abusing or exploiting features in order to gain a result that is not intended by the server’s script or Garry’s Mod is considered bug abuse and can result in a permanent ban from the community. Players who are also aware of a bug but do not report witnessing abuse/exploitation may also be subject to a punishment up to a permanent ban from the community. If you think you have discovered a bug in-game and wish to test it, it may only be done under the supervision of a staff member.

Examples:
  • Failing to report a bug which results in other players abusing it after.
  • Finding an item for sale at an NPC that costs more than it should, then failing to report it.
  • Exploiting a reported bug that allows you to duplicate assets or make an unnecessary amount of money.

REAL WORLD TRADING & ASSET TRANSFERS

Real World Trading is defined as trading anything with value outside of the In-character environment in-game for anything of value in-game. This is not allowed under any circumstances.

Examples:
  • Paying real money for Republic Credits on Defcon Gaming CWRP.
  • Trading items that have value in real life, or items on another roleplay community or platform in return for items of value on Defcon Gaming CWRP.

ADVERTISEMENT RULES

The advertisement system is there to assist in the creation of roleplay, and assist in the trade of assets and services.

The following are considered acceptable examples of using /ads:
  • Buying and selling of weapons, cosmetics or items of value.
  • Advertisement of legal services such as crafting orders.

You may NOT use /ads for the following under any circumstances:
  • Making requests.
  • Asking questions.
  • A secondary comms chat.

Advertisements must not be spammed. Players are expected to be courteous when advertising. Posting several ads for the same content in a short period of time is considered a breach of this rule.

When advertising, /ads must only use fully in-character terms. The only exception to that is the usage of #republic-market, being considered an in-character billboard and database to collect republic market trades and offers.

Examples of breaking the rule:
  • Advertising asking for price checks.
  • Advertising the search of a bounty hunter.

Added:
  • Vehicle/Machinery section. This is where all rules/regulations for vehicles will be placed.
  • BARC Rules and Regulations:
    • BARC Speeders are to be used for BARC/Regimental Training, or during a Mission (Event).
    • BARCs are to be used as a scouting/recon tool, not as artillery. Misuse of them will lead to termination.
    • Drifting the BARC speeders around the MHB, or driving them inside of the main base will result in immediate termination.
    • You are not to be asking for BARCs non-stop. They should be used when necessary, not as a toy.
    • In regards to training with the BARC speeders, a 41st NCO MUST be present UNLESS explicit permission was given prior.
    • Within the first week of every month every BARC certified person must report to a BARC training held by a 41st XO+.
Failure to attend will result in your certification being revoked.
Changed:
  • Officers of companies that have access to BARC speeder usage now have the ability to spawn them in for their troopers.
This also makes it to where the company itself is responsible for their trooper's actions with BARC speeders.
Failure to abide by the BARC rules provided by the 41st Elite Corps will result in the loss of BARC usage.
  • Specialist classes will be allowed to receive BARC certification at the rank of SGT across the board.

Revised Base Function and Chain of Command:

Combat on base / PTL / PTA / Ect.

Admiral [Can override General when it is in direct regard to the base] / Clone General
Vice Admiral
Republic Command Officer
Coruscant Guard Commander
Coruscant Guard Officer
Republic Command
Coruscant Guard Trooper
[If none of the above are present on base]
Jedi General
Marshal Commander
Regimental Commander

Combat Off Base
Combat outside of the base. This only applies to you if you are in combat outside of the base. This includes directing troopers and giving orders.

Generals [Can override Admiral when it is in regard to troopers in combat] / Admiral
Vice Admiral
Marshal Commander
Republic Command Officer
Regimental Commander
Coruscant Guard Commander
Republic Command
Coruscant Guard Officer
Regimental Officer
Coruscant Guard

Chain of Command Reminder, in order of rank.
If you are able to handle power, this shouldn't be surprising nor an issue for you. With this being said, you shouldn’t be going out of your way to step on other regiment's toes unless it's unequivocally necessary to do so, or you have the power or rank to do so. (Highly unlikely)

Admiral - Can override General when it's direct regard to the base.
Clone General - Can override Admiral when it's in direct regard to troopers in combat. On par with Admiral.
Jedi General - Can override Admiral when it's in direct regard to troopers in combat. Only has control over their respective regiment. Works with other Generals and Commanders on the battlefield.
Marshal Commander - Has control over all regiments in combat unless a General is present for the regiment in question.
Commander - Has control over their regiment or any troopers put under their command in a briefing.

Added under Character Rules:

Changed Ramboing:

  • Ramboing or to rambo is when a Jedi or Trooper strays from a group or the base solely for the purpose to be the first one to fight or see action. It is not considering ramboing if a group of troopers ask for assistance from another trooper or Jedi and the action fit the request for support.
  • Jedi are allowed to push or advance in combat on their own, however they risk the chances of receiving friendly fire if they advance unannounced or with poor timing and/or strategy.
